In the Heart of the Southern Berkshires
Saint James Place is on the Route 7 corridor and situated at the entry to downtown Great Barrington, the thriving commercial hub of Southern Berkshire County, filled with great restaurants and shops. Nestled in the southwestern corner of Massachusetts, Great Barrington is only 2.5 hours from NYC and Boston, and an hour from Albany and Hartford. There are amazing hotels, Inns and B&Bs in Great Barrington and in the many small towns throughout the Berkshires.
A Vintage Space with Elegant Accommodations
Saint James Place was built in 1857 and is a significant and early example of 19th century Gothic Revival architecture in Western Massachusetts, constructed of locally quarried blue dolomite limestone with a central tower, pointed-arch windows, an iconic red front door, and exquisite stained glass. In 2010, Sally and Fred Harris established a non-profit organization to purchase and fully restore the buildings, transforming them into an arts and cultural center- and now a premiere wedding venue.
Berkshire County is a beloved location for brides and grooms from Western Massachusetts, Boston, New York and beyond. Saint James Place can become your sacred space on your special day anytime of the year. Our excellent acoustics make the sanctuary space perfect for beautiful solos and classical quartets. Every wedding is unique at Saint James Place. Our guests are able to select caterers, photographers, florists and event rental companies from our list of vendors to suit their wishes. Our goal is to make your wedding perfect in every way.
