Looking at Wedding Venues in the Berkshires During Corona Time?

While we’re grounded in our history here at Saint James Place, we’ve created a wedding venue that is for today and the future. If you’re looking for wedding venues in the Berkshires for your 2021 wedding, we may be your perfect place. Everything has gone sideways in 2020 with COVID-19: you may have postponed your Berkshire wedding or you may have gone ahead with a very small and intimate wedding. If you ARE looking for a Berkshire wedding venue, here’s why you should consider Saint James Place now, whether your big day is next year or this year.

Wedding with social distance at Saint James Place Great Barrington MA
  • Our Sanctuary space is large – we can easily seat 275 under our cathedral ceiling. This gives us the ability to accommodate social-distance seating. (See the room layout here.) Family pods can sit together with six feet between them and other guests. Our ventilation, heating and cooling systems are new and top-of-the-line. Your intimate wedding can work perfectly here right now; your large wedding can work perfectly here later.
  • Not only do we have the Sanctuary, we also have the Great Room and the East Room, and wide hallways. So much space to spread out.
  • Our backyard is spacious with plenty of room for a large tent. If you are excited to marry in downtown Great Barrington, near all the action, we can’t think of a better idea right now. You could have your wedding ceremony in our Sanctuary, reception with all safety protocols under the tent.

This article in the New York Times offers some terrific tips on hosting your socially-distanced wedding during this ongoing pandemic.

At this time, Coronavirus cases are very low in Berkshire County (see Berkshire Health System’s report right here). If you want to get married in 2020, this is good news for your intimate wedding. If you want to plan for 2021 or 2022, let’s go ahead and plan for your large dream wedding.
