GBPT kicks off 2024 with a “Conversation With” Jeff Zinn, the first in a series of FREE lively, off-the-cuff talks with industry influencers. Jeff Zinn is the accomplished director, writer, actor, producer and founder of Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theater. GBPT Artistic Director Jim Frangione will talk to him about his illuminating podcast GURUS: The Story of Acting, from Stanislavsky to Succession , and get his  take on current trends in American theater.

Jeff Zinn has had a remarkable career on stage and screen, from his beginnings as a singer-songwriter in the Boston club scene, to character-defining roles on and off-Broadway alongside topline actors such as Elizabeth McGovern, F. Murray Abraham, Jane Anderson and Alfre Woodard. He writes, directs and produces and was founding artistic director of the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater and managing director at the Gloucester Stage Company. He has produced over 200 new plays, including The Beauty Queen of Leenane starring Julie Harris. In December 2023, he appeared with his friend the respected and acclaimed actress Alfre Woodard in a reading of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters to benefit Wellfleet Preservation Hall. He is the author of The Existential Actor: Life and Death, Onstage and Off and produces the podcast GURUS: The Story of Acting, from Stanislavsky to Succession, exploring the foundations of theater and discussing technique and personal discoveries with artists like Alfre Woodard, Cherry Jones, Alan Ruck, David Patrick Kelly, BD Wong and others.
