Saint James Place was on target to be torn down. After a seven-year historic renovation, it’s now a community asset – a cultural center in Great Barrington. Help Saint James Place nurture local, national & international musicians, actors and artists and sustain our historic buildings. Our goals are to be a benefit to our Great Barrington community & to offer affordable space for the arts, a home for the People’s Pantry, and a cultural center for the Berkshires.
In 2010, Sally and Fred Harris stepped in to rescue the historic Saint James Episcopal Church by creating a non-profit organization to purchase, renovate and offer the building as a cultural and education center. Foundational and Corporate grants and generous individual donations made all of this possible. The renovation was a six-year process culminating in a celebratory Opening. 65 arts groups were immediately interested in collaborating with Saint James Place. Launch…Succesful!
Now Saint James Place must sustain what it began and support the partner organizations that bring wonderful entertainment and beauty to our Great Hall and Sanctuary Stage.
If you give to Saint James Place, we will contine to thrive and offer opportunities.
