Discover the joy of dance at Saint James Place!
At Saint James Place, we celebrate the artistry, energy, and diversity of dance. As a hub for creative dance experiences for children and adults, we support local choreographers, emerging artists, and established dance companies to bring their visions to the stage.
We welcome a wide range of styles, from the grace of classical ballet to energetic modern jazz; exuberant Latin dance to charming children’s movement.
Whether quietly elegant or wildly exuberant, these dance experiences contribute to the brightly colored mosaic of Berkshire County’s extraordinarily rich cultural offerings. Featured performances have included the Olga Dunn Dance Company (an Arts Partner), Moving Arts Exchange, Berkshire Pulse and the annual Festival Latino of the Berkshires.
Dance companies are easily able to engage with their audiences through a variety of creative entry points:
- post-performance Q & A sessions where audiences connect with the artists;
- free family events that invite everyone to move and celebrate;
- dance classes with the Olga Dunn Dance Company;
- and pre-performance dance chats for performance insights.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary at Saint James Place provides the perfect location for dynamic dance presentations, while our Great Hall and East Room (also equipped with sprung-wood floors) are ideal for dance classes and rehearsals.

Lighting
Saint James Place is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including modern lighting, sound, and HVAC systems, which ensure productive and comfortable rehearsals and performances.
Inspirational Ambiance
Our architecturally significant historic building was completely restored and renovated by 2017, preserving the beauty of its Gothic Revival details to the beautifully painted ceilings and walls. We combine the charm of a historic venue with modern amenities to provide a truly unique experience.
Versatility
Whether you need rehearsal space, a large concert venue, or a post-performance reception area, Saint James Place is flexible and adaptable. Our Sanctuary seats 280 for large concerts, while our East Room provides an intimate space for meetings or smaller gatherings. After your performance, our Great Hall is ideal for hosting a reception for up to 150 standing guests (or 85 seated). See our floor plans here.

Main Street Marquee
Our 12-foot tall digital marquee at the front of our building displays your event in rotation with other events. This showcases your concert to the Great Barrington community—and all who drive south on Main Street/Route 7. We request artwork whenever possible so we can showcase your event at its best.
Event Listing on Our Website
Your event will be listed on our Events page with a direct link to your website for ticket sales. We also encourage artwork submissions to ensure your concert looks its best.
Social Media
We help you spread the word on social media by posting three to five times on our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and Google. We also run one Facebook/Instagram ad valued at $40.
Email Outreach
We send emails to our audience featuring your event.
