Enjoy gorgeous Baroque and Contemporary Eastern European choral works at Crescendo’s Music Across Borders concert on Sunday, October 30 at 4pm in the Sanctuary here at Saint James Place in Great Barrington.

Concert Details

The Baroque style became a transitional cultural phenomenon, as composers constantly forged new connections among diverse cultural centers and across borders. This concert is filled with Baroque and contemporary works by composers from Poland, Czechia and Latvia. The early composers are: The Polish Handel,’ Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki,Jan Dismas Zelenka, Johann Adam Hiller,Johann Valentin Meder, Kryštof Harant, Bohuslav Matěj Černohorský’s (Czechia).

Contemporary a cappella vocal works by award-winning contemporary young composers Ēriks Ešenvalds, Paweł Łukaszewski, and others.

Soprano Christina Kay and Jordan Rose Lee, countertenors Nicholas Tamagna and Augustine Mercante, tenor Dan Foster, and bass-baritone Peter Becker, the Crescendo Chorus and Period Instrument Orchestra conducted by Christine Gevert.
