Come for live music at Saint James Place in Great Barrington on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00pm for Berkshire Lyrics 2021 Christmas Concert “Noel We Sing.” Tickets are $30 in advance at www.berkshireLyric.org and at the door the afternoon of the performance.

After a long absence due to the pandemic, the region’s oldest and largest chorus returns to live and safe concerts for the holiday season. Berkshire Lyric’s Noël We Sing! offers the 60 voice Berkshire Lyric Chorus joined by Lyric’s young women’s group, Melodious Accord, and a chamber orchestra all led by Artistic Director Jack Brown. The featured work will be Charpentier’s “Midnight Mass for Christmas.” This charming work from the French baroque is based on popular French noëls and carols. The choruses will also perform popular carols arranged by Alice Parker and contemporary a cappella works by Will Todd, Libby Larsen, Dan Forrest, and Bob Chilcott.

COVID Protocol: Berkshire Lyric asks that attendees show proof of vaccination at the door and remain masked for the concert. All performers will be fully vaccinated.

Proceeds from Lyric’s  Christmas programs and the spring pop concerts help to fund the annual Spring Masterworks Concert at Tanglewood’s Seiji Ozawa Hall. In the spring, Berkshire Lyric returns to Ozawa Hall to perform the Mozart Requiem and music of Brahms with a full orchestra. Lyric is the region’s leading advocate for fine choral singing and vocal music education, with five choruses for singers ages 6 to 83 and a wide range of long running, local and year-round creative music programs for people of all ages.
