
Founded in 2024, the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra is a project of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington DC, directed by Kenneth Slowik. Modeled after Frans Brüggen’s Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, their repertoire ranges from Bach to Schoenberg performed on period instruments. Hear them perform Haydn’s Symphony No. 95 and Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 “Eroica” on Wednesday, September 24, at 7:30pm! SAO concerts are free and open to the public due to the generous support of The Honorable John FW Rogers and Goldman Sachs.
